Calculation methodology

SLOT STAT is an analytics platform that tracks how slots actually perform based on real play sessions — not the theoretical numbers providers hand out.

We don’t run simulations or trust provider specs blindly. Our stats are built on actual results — nothing else.

SLOT STAT operates independently — we have no ties to casinos or game providers, and we don’t interfere with RNG systems in any way. By the same token, neither casinos nor providers have any influence over our methodology or how we present our findings. By using this site, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

Methodology

How the data is collected

All metrics are calculated from observed play sessions and aggregated across multiple time windows:

1, 7, 30, 90, and 180 days

Each session is a standalone set of spins with consistent player behavior tracked throughout.

We only record actual balance changes during gameplay, including:

Spin wins
Zero-outcome spins
Bonus events as net result changes (without breaking down in-game bonus mechanics)

A Note on Interpretation

RTP — the long-term mathematical return of a slot.
SRP — how the slot actually performed over a selected time period.
Hit Rate — how often a spin results in a win.
Median Volatility — the distribution pattern of wins across sessions.
Median Max Win — the midpoint value of the biggest wins recorded.
Average Win — the average payout among winning spins.

Volatility doesn’t change RTP as a mathematical expectation — but it determines how far real results can swing from it during actual play.

SLOT STAT Key Metrics

SRP (Statistical Return Percentage)

SRP is the actual return percentage observed over a selected time period. Calculated as:

It shows how much, on average, players got back across real sessions.

SRP can run above or below the theoretical RTP — that’s expected, since it’s based on a finite data sample. It describes how a slot has behaved, not how it will behave.

Hit Rate

Hit Rate is how often a spin results in a win. Calculated as:

It reflects how consistently wins show up during gameplay.

High Hit Rate → frequent wins, smoother session feel

Low Hit Rate → longer dry spells between wins

Median Volatility

Median Volatility is the core metric for measuring how spread out results are. It’s calculated in two steps:

For each session, we calculate the standard deviation of wins (σ) — this shows how much results vary within that session
We then take the median of all σ values across sessions for the selected period

This approach:

Reduces the impact of rare, outsized wins

Filters out skew from anomalous bonus sessions

Gives a stable, reliable read on how the slot actually behaves

Median Max Win

Median Max Win is the median of the highest win recorded per session.

It’s not the all-time biggest win — it’s the typical ceiling a slot hits across most sessions. This metric reflects:

The slot’s consistent big-win potential, free from one-off outliers
A realistic benchmark, not a cherry-picked result

Average Win

Average Win is the mean payout across all winning spins.

It reveals the payout structure of the game — whether it’s dominated by small, frequent wins or skewed toward larger payouts.

It’s a useful gauge of how money flows through a slot over time.

Multiplier Distribution

Multiplier distribution shows how often different win levels actually occur:

10×
50×
100×

Each level is expressed as a share of all winning events. It tells you:

How balanced the payout structure is

Where the bulk of returns actually come from

How dependent the slot is on rare, high-multiplier hits

How the metrics work together

Taken together, SLOT STAT metrics give you a complete picture of how a slot behaves:

SRP
→ overall actual return

Hit Rate
→ how often it pays

Median Volatility
→ spread and risk

Median Max Win
→ typical win ceiling

Average Win
→ payout structure

Multiplier Distribution
→ shape of the payout curve

These aren’t standalone numbers — together, they describe how a slot plays, not just what it pays.

How to read a slot table in SLOT STAT — The User Guide

The SLOT STAT slot table is a snapshot of how a slot has performed over a selected period. The logic is straightforward:

SRP — how much the slot gave back
Hit Rate — how often it paid out
Volatility — how consistent (or erratic) that was
Max Win & Average Win — the scale of those payouts
Multiplier Distribution — what the returns were actually made up of

One thing to keep in mind: no single metric tells the full story. A proper read of any slot always comes from looking at the combination.

How to read a Slot’s Behavior

In practice, slots tend to fall into a few recognizable patterns:

Stable — high Hit Rate, low volatility
Balanced — middle-of-the-road across all metrics
Aggressive — high volatility, infrequent but large payouts

These profiles help you get a quick sense of how a slot plays without crunching every number manually.

Important Limitations

SLOT STAT:

Has no influence over how game results are generated

Does not control RTP, SRP, or slot mechanics in any way

Is not a tool for predicting wins

Every spin is an independent random event. Our statistics describe outcomes that have already happened — nothing more.
